That’s sort of how it started. You grow up around here – you can’t help but dream in barbecue. So back in 1979, the very first PoK-e-Jo’s opened its doors, quickly becoming the neighborhood barbecue joint the owners hoped it would.

Like all good things, word got around, and since that first little restaurant, PoK-e-Jo’s has grown right along with Austin until now there are five different restaurants, each one as unique as the neighborhood you’ll find it in. And count on this, no matter which PoK-e-Jo’s you’re lucky enough to eat at, you’ll always find the same good food and friendly folks who’ve been feeding barbecue to Austin for twenty-five years now.

And to those of you who’ve become regulars, whether in the last couple of weeks or over these last twenty-five years, we’d like to say a big thanks. We know Austin offers a lot of great choices when it comes to barbecue, so we sure do appreciate you comin’ back to PoK-e-Jo’s.
